We would like to thank you all for coming to the 2015 GSC 3S Awards
at the United Nations. This is the fifth edition of the GSC Awards in
Sustainable and Socially Responsible Sourcing, or GSC 3S Awards
that EMPOWER. This year, we are hosting the event at the World
Headquarters of the of United Nations in the New York City, a mere
week before the United Nations’ 70th General Assembly adopts
Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), which are to charter the world
development for the next 15 years.
The GSC 3S Awards celebrate individuals and companies who set up
the gold standards in excellence in sustainable and socially responsible
business practices. Today we congratulate all applicants, from all
corners of the world, for sharing their stories with the rest of us to learn
from, to be inspired and to adopt in our daily practices. More than 60
applicants representing 30 countries and five continents of the world
competed to show how businesses can pursue profit with a purpose.
The stories told by the GSC 3SAwards applicants, contribute to these
historical discussions on how to make the world the better place, one
corporate program at a time; one empowered women, one engaged
community, one passionate employee at the time.
