GSC Webinar Intern

Objective: Support in the development, planning and execution of the 2018 GSC Monthly Webinar series, with the first webinar in September 2018. It is anticipated that the intern will gain insights and connections to the fields of corporate/public sustainability, along with exposure to the planning and execution of thought leadership content.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Researching potential webinar topics, organizations, speakers
Conducting initial outreach to speakers
Supporting the development of webinar/marketing content
Assist in day-of webinar execution and moderation of questions
Support in post-webinar review, survey results analysis and distribution/archiving of materials
Commitment: TBD but anticipate averaging no more than 5 hours/week, with less in preparation weeks and potentially more in deadline/webinar weeks.

Reporting to: The intern will virtually report to and support the GSC Webinar Program Manager (located in CDT/CST).

Assistant Marketing Coordinator Volunteer

We are currently seeking an Assistant Marketing Coordinator to help the Marketing Coordinator with weekly tasks such as implementing marketing and advertising campaigns; tracking membership data; maintaining promotional materials inventory; assisting in planning meetings; maintaining databases; and preparing reports. This position would require approximately 10-12 hrs/wk.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the private GSC LinkedIn group (moderate new member applicants and dialogue between current members) as well as other social media accounts, including Facebook and Twitter
  • Execute the 17/17 SDG Campaign – weekly newsletters
  • Assist in uploading content to the website
  • Take part in weekly conference calls to update the GSC team
  • Additional marketing tasks as needed

Qualifications:

  • An interest in marketing, communications, and/or sustainability
  • Experience working with G-Suite
  • Works well within a small team
  • Open to new ideas
  • Pitch creative ideas to drive new members/engage our current audience
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Basic HTML and WordPress skills are a plus

*Please note, this is a remote, volunteer position, but this opportunity is available for school credit. You will learn and gain skills including: communicating to an international audience; working on platforms such as Hootsuite; fine-tuning your HTML and WordPress skills; and collaborating with an international team. This position may lead to a paid internship in the future.

GSC Web/Digital Content Manager

The key goal of this role is to ensure that the GSC websites remain optimized to engage audiences with the work and activities of the Global Sourcing Council.

The Web/Digital Content Manager should have the ability to produce compelling online experiences incorporating various media types (written, audio, video, imagery, etc.).

A key responsibility of this role will be the establishment of a web content lifecycle, defining and managing the various stages of website content presentation from new content to archives. The Web/Digital Content Manager will be responsible for writing, editing and proofreading website and digital content and ensuring all online copy adheres to brand and content guidelines. This role also will coordinate with the GSC Board to ensure the seamless integration and maintenance of creative content (illustrations, infographics, videos, etc.). The Web/Digital Content Manager also will work closely with the Webmaster to maintain site standards with regard to new development.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work with the GSC board to create, edit and post new website content
  • Maintain day-to-day oversight of existing website content, ensuring the information available remains current, accurate and up-to-date
  • Collaborate with the GSC team to implement calendar for regular updating of evergreen content and edits on as-needed basis in response to new initiatives and breaking news
  • Write and edit web pages, blog posts, emails, and other as needed
  • Create content to promote the GSC  website and share across social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, etc.)
  • Make recommendations for how to cultivate relationships through social media by researching who to follow and strategic ways to interact
  • Monitor website and social media analytics
