Wanda Lopuch – Opening Remarks

Dr. Wanda Lopuch is the Chair of the Board of the Global Sourcing Council (GSC), a business association of global sourcing professionals, which she co-founded in 2007.  She is a thought-leader in the area of responsible supply chains, social innovations and social risk. GSC is a member of the UN Global Compact and holds a consultative status with the UN Economic and Social Division (UN ECOSOC).

Prior to  GSC, Dr. Lopuch was a successful global entrepreneur, and an accomplished executive in a public company in the USA and Europe.  Currently she works with corporate boards on strategy, risk and sustainability, and advises businesses in the US, Asia, Europe and Latin America on sustainable business development. Wanda’s unique combination of entrepreneurial drive, global mindset,  multi-cultural and multi-language executive skills, and expertise in corporate social responsibility coupled with a deep understanding of the UN Ecosystem, makes her an effective global executive. She has been relentlessly practicing and advocating principles of sustainable development and profit with purpose.

Wanda Lopuch holds a Ph.D. in Administration and Supervision from Marquette University, Milwaukee, WI, and MS in Computer Sciences from University of Technology of Wroclaw, Poland.  She lecturers internationally on various aspects of global business in the USA, as well as in Asia: China, India, Malaysia, Philippines; in Europe and in Latin America.

Maureen Kline – Interview

Maureen Kline is Vice President of Public Affairs and Sustainability for Pirelli Tire North America, responsible for the US, Canada and Mexico and based in New York. She sits on the boards of the US Tire Manufacturers Association and the Tire and Rubber Association of Canada. She writes a column on sustainability for www.Inc.com and is a frequent speaker on the topic. Previously she was based in Pirelli’s headquarters in Milan, Italy, where she coordinated government affairs for the company’s foreign subsidiaries, and before that was responsible for Pirelli’s international media relations.

Prior to her public affairs and communications career, Maureen worked as a journalist over a 15-year period. She was Milan correspondent for the Wall Street Journal Europe, Breaking Views, and Business Week, among others. She edited a blog on the topic of meritocracy, hosted by Italian daily newspaper Corriere della Sera. She wrote and co-hosted a TV talk show in Italy on business and finance, broadcast on the local channel Telelombardia.

Maureen Kline holds a Bachelor’s degree from Yale University and a Master’s degree from the London School of Economics. She lived in Italy for over 20 years, working in the communications, public affairs and legal fields, and holds dual US-Italian citizenship.

Noel Smyth

Noel Smyth is Executive Director at JPMorgan Chase & Co. having been employed there since February 2003. He is Program Management Director in Global Technology. His responsibilities include: Leading large-scale enterprise solutions across multiple lines of business; developing and coaching top talent program leaders across all regions; developing and leading transformational roadmaps. He is experienced in technology program leadership, product development, sustainability leadership, communities of practice and people development. He holds a Master’s of Science in Information Systems from Drexel and a Master’s of Arts from Harvard in Sustainability.
