How to Talk About Sustainability

“John Elkington writing in HBR sees six mainframes at work in the sustainable business space, each with strengths and limitations. These are:  (1) the Resources Frame; (2) the Time Frame; (3) the Value Frame; (4) the Design Frame; (5) the Abundance Frame; (6) the Moral Frame.”

What’s Your Story? Checking in with the 3S Award Winners

The GSC 3S Awards is a global empowerment platform for small and mid-size “profit with purpose” business enterprises.

Established in 2008, the GSC 3S Awards program recognizes individuals and organizations that have demonstrated exceptional social and economic leadership in innovating, improving and implementing Sustainable and Socially Responsible Sourcing (3S) practices.
The annual 3S Awards program identifies, honors and empowers social entrepreneurs by providing global visibility, connections to successful global business leaders and access to business resources and financial capital to succeed.
The GSC is committed to changing the way the world conducts business. We aim to empower companies to pursue profit with purpose in mind. These innovative social entrepreneurs represent the future pipeline of responsible suppliers to the global economy.

Year End Giving

Empower Social Entrepreneurs

2017 has been an incredible year and as we look back, we just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has helped us along the way, we couldn’t have done it without you.
One of our favorite memories of 2017 was when we hosted the 3S Awards. Through this experience, we learned about 77 incredible social entrepreneurs from around the globe who are revolutionizing the way of the future. Some of these companies included: Chakr Innovationwho have developed a technology to turn emissions from diesel engine generators, such as soot, into raw material for the ink and textile printing industry; WAVE Academywho empowers disadvantaged West African youth with employability skills to transform their mindsets, and employment opportunities that enhance their social mobility; and Lotus Foods, who seeks to preserve rice biodiversity, increase farm incomes, promote sustainability, and provide consumers with healthier rice through their System of Rice Intensification (SRI), which doubles and triples farmer’s harvests, while using half the water, one-tenth the seeds, no agrochemicals, with less labor for women, and less methane emissions…just to name a few.
When you support GSC, you support start-up businesses such as Chakr, WAVE Academy, Lotus Foods, and dozens more (see all the winners here!). Our goal each year is to inspire, empower, and educate the newest generation of social entreprenuers, so that they too, can have the greastest resources to succeed in an ever changing world.
As we look towards 2018, we can’t wait to see what the new year has in store. Thank you for your continued support!
